Health

Not sure why nutrition books go for such a conspiracy angle

Time budgeting

Time budgeting is planning what you will and will not do at certain times, and being OK with not doing some possibly more fun things when you’d like to do them (earlier). For instance, accepting that you’ll work for X amount of time.

Priorities

Transitive priorities represented by a directional graph. Transitive conflicts could be presented to the user to help them address and resolve them. Could encode the relations using plain text and parse it out. Help to establish priorities and remind oneself of them. At the layer on which a chain runs out, there can be multiple priorities, stacking like in histogram. This is a stage of priorities.

Food

TJ’s cashew yogurt - creamy, use in place of cream in recipes Eggplant George Foreman

Brewing

Krausen falling: https://www.morebeer.com/questions/236#:~:text=It%20is%20a%20visible%20sign,sometimes%20even%20after%203%20weeks).

  • I was pretty disturbed to see this this morning 😅

Yeast don’t care what’s written on a box. They will take as long as it takes to eat all the fermentable sugars https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/krausen-dropped-quickly-is-that-an-infection.570770/#post-7369978

https://www.csr.utexas.edu/personal/amy/howtobrew.html :

Hydrometers are necessary when making beer from scratch (all-grain brewing) or when designing recipes. But the first-time brewer using known quantities of extracts simply does not need one.

Psych

Some things genuinely are easier to do at a quick pace, like when I got into the zone with the sepak takraw ball. It’s like my mind didn’t have a moment to deliberately think, so it downshifted into instinct and flow.

Beer

Contains no juice - beer. 4. Like a juice force from new Belgium but smoother/softer. Would prefer the new Belgium due to cost. Slightly prefer this one more based on flavor, but not enough for cost difference. Glad I tried it, though!

Carbonated drinkable yogurt with fruit flavors - like NE IPAs, but non alcoholic

Lack of a marketing signal for when a beer is a combination of soft, juicy, silky and/or creamy.

Actual

YNAB4 in web browser for free + $12/yr syncing: https://www.reddit.com/r/ynab/comments/18zh00o/comment/kgleo8j/ https://financier.io/

  • It does actually work in the android firefox app, but it’s a bit funky

Might be able to self-host a YNAB alternative through Pikapods for $1.4/month https://noted.lol/pikapods-instant-open-source-app-hosting/

  • Actual budget has a mobile interface
  • Could also host Wallabag through there for $1.5 a month
  • Also a grocery inventory and recipes keeper, with other stuff too: https://grocy.info/
  • Able to host an open source backend for an app, even mobile app ($1.4/month): https://pocketbase.io/

Actual budget doesn’t appear to have a savings goal feature like YNAB does to help you determine how much to save in order to reach your goal amount saved in time for when you were hoping to achieve it

  • You are able to do calculations in the budget cells, though, like 100/12

It’s a bit tedious to quickly add in budget categories. Not impossible, just requires mouse use and clicking small targets.
